Pinnacles National Park
Three valleys inland from Monterey, California is a dry place which most people never think about. Pinnacles is a very quiet national park in which the remnants of a volcano has created strange rock formations in the otherwise smooth coastal mountains. This is half the volcano however, the other half is miles away down south due its position on the San Andreas fault.
Went camping here with my Dad—we explored the entire park on a 10 mile hike through the pinnacles up top and the caves deep in the narrow valleys.
